Q: I am 18 years old & have completed std.12.Am I eligible?
A: No.You must have completed degree at the time of applying.
Q: I am 31 years & have degree.Can I apply?
A: Yes. All individulas who have completed degree & are of age 18 – 32 years are eligible to apply for these jobs in Indian railways.
Age relaxed upto 32 yrs for OBC,Widows & Divorced women, 37 for SC/ST & 42 for PWD
Q: Are BE/ B.Tech/ MBA/ MCA/ MSc/ Pharmacy graduates permitted to apply?
A: Yes.Candidates with any degree are eligible.So Engineering, Arts, Science & Commerce degree holders are eligible to apply.
Q: Can a final year student or those waiting for results apply this 2016 railway exam?
A: Not eligible.
Q: I did my graduation through distance/ correspondence.What about me?
A: Even you are eligible to apply.
Q: Can I apply for any RRB?
A: Yes, you are free to apply for vacancies in any RRB.A person residing in Delhi can apply for Chennai RRB.
Q: Can I apply for another RRB with a different email id?
A: You should apply for any 1 RRB only & not send more than one application.
Q: Should I know the local language of the state?
A: Not at all required.
Q: I have changed my name.But my certificate has old name.What to do?
A: Register with your new name & remember to carry the original gazette notification or other legal document about the name change at the time of document verification.
Q: Can I fill individual application for each post?
A: No.You must submit one application only by mentioning your order of preference for all positions.
Q: What is vernacular language asked in the registration form?
A: In some states, marksheets are issued to candidates with their names writting in local language.This is called venacular language.
In such cases, applicants must choose ‘Yes’ under vernacular language & write their name similarly while registering.
Q: Is eye testing compulsory for these railway jobs?
A: Indian railways has set certain visual standard for all posts.So it would be better to an eye specialist & test your eyesight.Then verify if your results are within the limits.
If your vision is not within the specified readings, you wont be eligible to apply for any posts.
Q: Can I choose an exam centre in anothe state?
A: Yes.You must choose upto 5 different test centres from the list of cities in the application.Therefore, it is possible to select a centre in a different state as well.

Q: Can i change my job preference after submitting the application?
A: Yes, you can modify any details even after submission before the end of last date.But an additional fee of Rs.100 must be paid.
Q: Does indian railways ask for NOC from current employees?
A: Yes.All those applicants who are currently working in State/ Central government depts or Public sector undertakings such as Banks, Insurance companies etc., must get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer.
The NOC should be produced during document verification stage only.
Q: I am a girl of general category.Should I pay fees for railway recruitment?
A: No.Female candidates are completely exempted from paying fees irrespective of their categories.
Q: Should males of minority communities pay application fees?
A: Not required.All candidates who are classified as Minorities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians/Parsis) need not deposit fees.
But they must submit ‘minority community declaration’ affidavit during document verification process.
