The SSC CGL 2017 online application registration closes on June 16 but the SSC website is not working for the past few days, creating last minute fear among candidates.The CGL exam is one of the most sought after recruitment exam for jobs in central government and large number of application are expected, every year.Will SSC extend the last date of application for CGL 2017, is the question raised by aspirants.
The SSC CGL 2017 recruitment exam was announced in May and eligible candidates were asked to submit their applications through their online website ssconline.nic.in on or before June 16, 2017.
UPDATE on JUNE 16: SSC has extended the time for filling the online application for CGL 2017 recruitment exam, untill June 19.
An official notification states, “…the commission has decided to extend the last date of filling of on-line application forms for CGLE, 2017 till 5.00 PM on 19.6.2017”
SSC Website Down; Candidates complain to PM!!
SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL), being an important recruitment exam for jobs in central government departments and offices, approximately 20 – 25 lakh candidates send in their applications, every year.
This year, the website of SSC seems to be not functioning properly for the past few days with frequent disconnections.It has caused sever inconvenience to all aspirants who have been trying to complete the registration process from June 11.
The website shows the following error message, “164.100.129.99 says Error!!!! can not connect to the server.Please try after some time”.
Because of this, no one is able to either register or take a print of their submitted application form.
Since the situation remains the same, for the past 4-5 days, candidates are starting to vent their anger on social medial platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
Some are even tagging the twitter accounts of prominent news channels, Govt ministers and even PM Modi, requesting them to interfere in the matter and order an extension of the last date.

SSC CGL 2017 Last Date Extended
Since the website ssconline.nic.in is virtually inaccessible for everyone, SSC has decided to extend the SSC CGL application last dates.

According to the new schedule,
Last date to submit online applications for SSC CGl 2017: June 19, 2017 upto 5 PM
Last date to pay fees at SBI branches using the generated challan: June 21, 5 PM
