Exam times are over & the next 3 months will see personal interviews being conducted for various bank jobs.The IBPS clerical interviews are scheduled to start in the month of February which will be attended by those qualified in the written test held a month ago. Candidates who were not eligible to participate in PO recruitment are pinning their hopes on clerical cadre selection process.

1 Lakh are Eyeing Clerical Jobs
Yes, you read the above number correctly. As per the official announcement from the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) – 1,00,577 candidates have successfully qualified in the written test & are eligible to take part in the common interviews.
The clerk appointments are done state-wise.For example:
A candidate who appeared for his written test at Mumbai will be considered for appointment in a bank within the state of Maharashtra only.Similarly, if someone sat for the exam in Trivandrum, he/she shall get posted in Kerala only.
Since the institute has not revealed any details about state-wise passouts, we cannot calculate the competition in each region.
But going by previous year IBPS clerk CWE, here are the top 6 states according to the declared vacancies.
Uttar Pradesh with 5600 vacancies (across various banks) was one state which benefitted the most of last year`s recruitment.
Remember, it is not possible to apply for a different state now.So if you were looking to get the job in a different state other than the one from where you took the test, just forget it.IBPS does not allow such an arrangement.
How Many Clerk Jobs in 2015?
We know this could be the next big question in everybody`s mind. There are few more such as – Will it be the same like last year, What is the chance of getting selected etc.,

- Punjab National Bank, Bank of India & Bank of Baroda were the top recruiters (based on no. of openings throughout India)
- The above banks had approx. 6500, 4400 & 4600 vacancies respectively.
The vacancies for 2015-16 shall also be in the range of 38,000 – 42,000.But you will be able to know it at the time of common interviews results, which is in the month of March.
The entire IBPS clerk selection process would be completed after provisional allotment by the end of April 2015.
