As per the IBPS PO 2015 notification, 23 govt. banks & financial institutions are participating in this recruitment of PO (officers) vacancy.
Based on the total score in IBPS exam & interview, candidates will be automatically allotted to any of the banks. They should then join that particular organization only.
Therefore we are going to list banks based on few factors so you can make a decision.
Location: A common question asked by candidates appearing for PO jobs is – ‘Will I get posting within my city‘.
First of all, you must know that a bank officer is transferable & may be posted anywhere in India every 5 years.Hence there is absolutely no guarantee that you will stay only within your city for long.
But, you can improve the chances of getting home state posting by preferring banks that have many branches in your current state. |
For example, Andhra bank with its headoffice in Hyderabad has over 1000 branches across Andhra Pradesh. If you wish to get posted within AP, choosing Andhra Bank as top preference will increase your possibility of joining in any of the districts within AP.
The below table shows the headoffice of all the participating banks along with their state.
PO Preferences for Females:
Job locations are allocated by the bank after they get the complete list of candidates from IBPS.
Hence we believe there is some leniency showed by officials for women as many were able to secure home state & city locations last year.
Are you a female applying for IBPS PO? Choose your preferences in this order:
First, choose banks with headoffice in your city or state
Then, prefer banks near your state
Finally move to banks that have branches in other parts of India.
Example: Rani is currently residing in Bangalore & wants to work within the city.
So her preference list can be Canara Bank, Vijaya Bank, Syndicate Bank, Corporation Bank, Andhra Bank, IOB, Indian Bank etc., followed by other banks with HQ in northern India.
By making such a preference, she has made sure that her posting could be in Karnataka or in its neighboring states – Tamilnadu & A.P
PO Preference List – Based on Employee Feedback
All public sector banks in India are owned by Govt. of India & regulated by Reserve Bank of India.
So there isn’t much of a difference in the salaries/ payscale or allowances offered by each bank & hikes are implemented for all the employees in a uniform manner.
But based on work environment, policies & growth opportunities these banks are rated & given reviews by real employees on various online websites.
Here is our preference list that was prepared by taking into account the feedback posted by such people.
This is not a fixed list. You are free to choose preferences based on your reasoning.
Most govt. banks in India are over 50 years old & employee interests are guarded by unions. So you need not fear thinking whether a bank is good or bad.
Nowadays, we see many candidates (both male & female) asking us if they can get transfers within their town/city.But there is nothing to be afraid of.
While applying for a PO (officer) job in govt. banks itself, prepare yourself mentally to get posted anywhere in India.
You will get a chance to meet new people, new culture, new language, develop new relationships & who knows you may even find your life partner in that place!!
This is the age for young people like you to travel & learn many new things.Because after marriage, you would have to settle down at some place anyhow to fulfill other commitments. |
Female candidates should also be forthcoming to relocate, although the management takes transfer requests from them. There are currently 2.5 lakh women employees in public sector banks. So be willing to take responsibility and grow up the ladder.
After all, Why should boys have all the fun?
We hope this article would have helped you to take a decision on how to submit your IBPS PO 2015 preferences.
