Do you know that there is no interview for any of the posts in this Indian railways recruitment? As per the RRB selection process, candidates who qualify in the written test would directly proceed to appointment.

Therefore applicants who did not have time to prepare a study plan can still clear the RRB exam if they prepare according to the RRB exam pattern & syllabus.

Final Study Plan for RRB NTPC Exams

To make things easier for aspirants who keep asking ‘How to prepare & crack RRB exam in 7 days or 10 days’, we are providing you with a simple study plan.It is a compilation of the very important topics in each section.

  • Completed preparing already? Treat this as your revision study plan.
  • Starting to read only now? Make sure to cover these chapters first & then move on to others.

Before going further, we suggest everyone to go through RRB exam previous year question papers to know the difficulty level.

Arithmetic: Around 30 questions can be expected in this section from basic maths.

The important chapters to prepare here are:

  • Time and Work/ Distance
  • Percentages
  • Fractions
  • Square roots
  • Simplification
  • Profit & Loss
  • Mensuration

Tip: Rather than memorizing problems from books, learn the formula & understand the concept so you can attend any type of question.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: The reasoning questions will not be like that of bank PO exam level.RRB exam papers are only of clerical cadre level.

  • Series
  • Analogy
  • Statement/ Conclusions
  • Blood relations
  • Word formations
  • Missing number/word
  • Age & Clock related problems
  • Coding/Decoding

A maximum of 30 – 35 questions would be in this section. If you have time, do go through few other chapters like syllogism, direction test etc to increase your attempts.

General Awareness: One of the most important areas to score in RRB exam. For some reason, GK occupies approximately 40% of the questions asked in previous years NTPC recruitment.

We advise candidates to study all the chapters that come under GK but if you are short on time, try to cover atleast the following:

  • Indian Polity & Constitution
  • General Science (Basics – Physics, Chemistry & Biology)
  • Union & Rail Budget (see budget GK questions)
  • Five year plans
  • Sports events
  • Books & authors
  • Important current affairs (see past 3 months pdf)

After preparing these chapters, you may also go through Indian history & geography but make sure you don’t get confused with the dates.

Books for RRB NTPC Exam Final Revision

Do not buy study guides unless your exam is scheduled after April 2nd week. There is no point in getting a guide during these last days & trying to learn the concepts.

Keeping in mind the limited number days you have to revise, we are only suggesting practice books for revisions.Learn the topics practically by attempting different practice papers.
