According to IBPS PO notification, 8822 officer vacancies are to be filled during the year 2017 -18 in govt banks.See below for bank-wise breakup of available posts:
The procedure of selection is as follows:
It is estimated that atleast 8 – 10 lakh candidates appear for the prelims but IBPS will fix cutoffs in such a way they shortlist in the ratio of 1:20 (20 times the no. of vacancies). The same ratio was practiced in SBI PO recruitment as well.
Going by that formula, 8822 x 20 = 1,76,440.
So approximately 1.80 lakh candidates should qualify for IBPS PO 2016 mains.
The prelims cutoff scores would be determined accordingly by the institute to match this number.Checkout our IBPS PO prelims expected cutoffs & exam review.
Since the tests are conducted through online mode, the results are normally out within few weeks.IBPS is also known to declare the results of their examinations quite fast.
As per their official calendar, the IBPS PO prelims results will be released in the 1st or 2nd week of November 2016.
Qualifiers would then have to appear for the IBPS PO Main 2016 on November 20.
