The RBI Grade B Tier II exam supposed to be held on December 5th has been postponed to December 14th, for Chennai centre only. This was notified by Reserve bank of India on their website (see here) today evening.

The biggest disappointment among candidates in Chennai & other flood affected areas is this – Why has IBPS not published any notification about the clerk exams in these regions, When RBI has done it?

Few candidates who called the test centres were told that the exams could be cancelled but even they were not able to confirm it.

Since there is no power in most parts of the city, people still do not have access to computers or mobile phones. This has made it even tough to know about the ibps clerk exam status.

Here are the reactions of individuals who managed to get onto internet & share these thoughts on discussion forums. While some were angry, most were helpless voices not knowing what to do.

Vijay says, “Starting from the Government & to the people, North didn’t see the south, thinking that it is not a part of India. Even if the roads & transport are okay, aspirants are MENTALLY affected by this situation.”

MSD said these, “Everyone is saying (that exams could be postponed). But why IBPS cant announce it officially?”

“I am staying in Chennai.I have exam on Dec 5 at 8 am.My area is affected due to heavy rains. No power for the last 4 days & I could not print my hall ticket.I don’t what to do tomorrow”, says Viki.

Ramya has said, “I lost my patience. So irresponsible. They even did not think about girls.Very disgusting moment.”

Mahesh`s comment will sum up the effect of this disaster. He says,

“No power!
Poor access to basic facilities!
No train facilities to & fro!
Water covers the ground floor!
Water contaminated diseases increased!
One Litre milk costs Rs.150.
One water can costs Rs. 200.
One km travel costs Rs. 100.
Private buses charge Rs. 500 – Rs. 1000”

IBPS clerk exam after chennai floods

A Request to IBPS

To the officials at IBPS, you would have known about the floods in chennai & how the people in those areas are scrambling to get back to normalcy.

Everyone knows that it is impossible to reach the exam centre through these floods & the possibility of postponing the clerk exam is the only option your organization has.

But an official announcement on your website about the exam status will provide a huge relief to candidates who are already emotionally drained by these floods.

So on behalf of BankExamsIndia.com visitors and candidates in Chennai, Cuddalore & Puducherry – we kindly request you to release a statement on this matter.
