The IBPS SO (SPL) VI Exam 2017 final results have been declared.It was conducted for the recruitment of Specialist Officer posts in govt banks to be filled during the financial year 2017-18.The total number of specialist officer vacancies is around 4290 across various banks.In addition to the results, details on IBPS SO cutoffs & reserve list are also released.
The validity of IBPS scores expires on March 31st every year & it is the reason for IBPS PO results & IBPS clerk results were announced few days ago.
The IBPS Specialist Officer VI recruitment exam was advertised in December 2016 which was followed by exams in January 2017.Following the results, personal interviews were held in March 2017.
4290 Specialist Officer Posts
The IBPS SO 2017 exam was held in the month of January 2017 for scale I posts (IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer,Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer & Marketing Officer.

In addition to knowing your sectional scores, it shall also display the bank you have been allotted.
20 Public sector banks have earmarked 4295 specialist officer jobs for the year 2017-18, which is slightly lower thn the vacancies created last year.
As you can see from the above image,
- Agriculture field officer with 2693 vacancies tops the list.
- Marketing Officer comes 2nd with 1000 seats.
- IT Officer with 295 openings was the most favored post among IT employees looking for bank jobs.
The minimum cutoff scores for each of these posts are also now available.
The numbers in brackets is date of birth of the candidate who had secured that particular score.In case two persons with the same scores are shortlisted, the person with senior age would be selected.
Intimations will be sent via email/ sms to those who were successfully allotted.So candidates have to watch out for such communications regularly.

Reserve List Cutoffs
The allotments have been done based on merit cum preference, says IBPS in a statement on their website here released to convey the results.
If any of the chosen candidates doesn’t join the bank, that post remains vacant. To fill such vacancies, IBPS has created a waitlist also called the reserve list & cutoffs for that list has also been announced.
The below image clearly shows category wise scores fixed for reserve/ waiting list. Candidates within this range may get allotted to any bank incase of further vacancies are announced for the year.
Candidates have to note that these combined markings were derived as a result of adding your written exam & personal interview scores for total of 100.
What Next?
With IBPS completing the allotment procedures, they shall now forward this list of selected individuals to respective banks.
Public banks would then email the candidates separately describing about their joining formalities, date of reporting, venue etc.,
Before offering appointment, candidates will have to submit their documents/ marksheets/ certificates or any other records asked by PSB`s to prove their eligibility.
There is no definite timeline on when the banks will inform about joining duty. Hence one has to wait & keep checking their website regularly for updates.
