IBPS SO recruitment is being conducted to fill IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, Marketing Officer, Law Officer, HR Officer,Rajbhasha Adhikari etc.,
The profile of these positions are different from the regular Officer & Clerk jobs in public sector banks. Therefore a separate paper called ‘Professional Knowledge’ is part of the written test.
Specialist officers are required only in less numbers compared to PO.And that’s one of the main reason for the total vacancies to be less than 5000 every year.
As part of IBPS SO IV recruitment, that was held in Feb 2015 – banks had created a total of 3931 jobs:
In 2014, approximately 4400 specialist officer vacancies were announced.
So there is a high possibility for the total number of vacancies in 2016 could be around 3000 – 3500 only.
Just like the PO & clerk exams, IBPS also releases cutoff scores for specialist officer exams.Inorder to qualify in the written exam, cutoffs are applied in two stages:
All candidates should secure the necessary score in both these areas to qualify for Interviews.
Individual Cutoffs: Although there are 5 different positions, the cutoff scores on each section was almost similar for all with only minor difference between the categories.
Therefore, we are giving you the common cutoff range for all sections that was fixed for IBPS SO/ SPL exam 2015 which will help you understand better.
Like in all exams, the cutoffs for general are higher than OBC,SC & ST.So you have to prepare accordingly.
Total Cutoffs: IBPS did not publish the list of cutoffs for their previous recruitment & hence we had to collect it from candidates directly. Here is the compilation:
