Jharkhand Postal Circle has issued its latest recruitment notification for 256 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies. As part of hiring activites by India Post to extend its operations throughout the nation,they have started GDS recruitments in the states of Odisha, MP, AP, Telangana, Rajasthan etc.,
The Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) positions are created particularly in post offices located in rural areas to provide postal services for customers in that region.The GDS job profile may include post office operations, mail delivery, mail carriage & other related postal activites.

The salary/ payscale of Gramin Dak Sevaks may differ slightly for each district as openings exist in different areas.

Who are Eligible?
To apply for Jharkhand Postal Circle Gramin Dak Sevak Recruitment 2017, you are required to satisfy the following eligibility conditions:
Age: Should be 18 – 40 years as on 3.05.2017 (max age relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ ST candidates, 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for PH category)
Education: Pass in standard 10th from the approved state boards of that respective state govt. / central govt.
Computer knowledge: The applicant needs to posses computer knowledge & will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute.
Selection Process:
The selections for gramin dak sevak posts is done purely on merit basis.Therefore the marks obtained in std.X would only be taken up for finalizing the merit list.
No specifial weightage is given for having a higher qualification such as std.XII or marks scored in degree.
Candidates who are shohrtlisted for appointment will get an SMS informing his/ her selection.They are required to produce the necessary certificates for document verification on the mentioned dates.
Registration & Application
Male applicants of General & OBC category need to pay Rs.100 at any head post office after informing their application registration number at the post officer counter.
No fee for all Females (all categories) & SC/ ST candidates.
Interested aspirants should register their details online through the websites –‘https://indiapost.gov.in’ or ‘https://appost.in/gdsonline’ before May 3, 2017.
Make sure to have all the following details with you at the time of registration:
- Name (In capital letter as per X class certificate Marks Memo including spaces)
- Father Name
- Mobile Number
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Community
- PH – Type of Disability – (HH/OH/VH) – Percentage of disability
- State in which Xth class passed
- Board in which Xth class passed
- Year of Passing Xth class
- Xth Class Certificate Number
You should also upload scanned copies of the above certificates.Hence remember to have the physical certificates while filling the application form.
