If there is one announcement that is eagerly awaited every year by many youngsters, it could be the Combined Graduate Level exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission.
SSC CGL 2016 notification was also similarly expected but after the original notice was published, some couldn’t not apply just because of the date on which the age was to be calculated.
Two important modifications have been notified in connection with these issues that are explained in detail below.
As per the initial advertisement, the age limit for SSC CGL posts were taken as on 1st of August 2016.Since 27 years is the maximum age to apply for many posts, those born on or after Jan 1, 1989 were not eligible to register for the exam.

SSC has changed the age reckoning date to 1.1.2016 from immediate effect.In a corrigendum uploaded on their website, the Under Secretary (P&P I) has said,
“Keeping in view the interest of the candidates, the Competent Authority has approved the proposal to allow the candidates fulfilling the age criteria on 1.1.2016 to also apply”
The change has been incorporated on the ssc online registration page as well.
While applicants between 18 – 27 years are eligible for most jobs, there are only few jobs available for those above 27 yrs through SSC CGL 2016.What are they?

The last date to register for SSC CGL 2016 Exams have also been extended by 10 days.Since the change in age has been announced 10 days after the notification was first published, the officials seem to have postponed the last date.
