The much expected LIC AAO 2016 exams for the recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officer in LIC is over. One of the biggest recruitments of recent times, candidates who were looking for bank jobs had also applied for LIC AAO recruitment.Although the official numbers are not known, atleast 10-12 lakh are expected to appear for the test.So here is the LIC AAO expected cutoffs, exam review & analysis along with candidate`s feedback.

LIC had announced to recruit 700 AAO`s & an online examination was scheduled to be conducted on March 5, 6, 12 & 13 of 2016.

Candidates who were alloted the 1st weekend have completed the exams.Based on their feedback, here is a detailed review of the questions paper.

LIC AAO 2016 – Easy OR Better Prepared?

The LIC AAO Exams held on March 5 & 6 were termed as easy, which many did not expect.Considering the high competition, everybody felt the difficulty could be hard as IBPS PO exam.

So all those who were preparing with high level questions found Reasoning & QA quite easy because of the clerical pattern questions. This is the reason why candidates were divided in ther opinion about the exam.

Check out the section-wise review to understand how it panned out:

Reasoning Ability: 30 questions, each carrying 3 marks.

  • Arrangement (Seating/ Row/ Floor/ Linear)
  • Syllogism
  • Blood relations
  • Directions
  • Puzzles

This section was easy to moderate & many told us that they were able to attend above 24 with 100% accuracy.Few other candidates felt the puzzles were little tricky but not tough.

Safe number of attempts: 22+

Quantitative Aptitude: There were 30 questions with 3 marks for each correct answer.

  • Data Interpretation
  • Permutation
  • Inequality
  • Quadratic Equations
  • Series
  • Ratios
  • Average, Probablity
  • Profit & Loss, Percentage
  • Time & Work/ Boat & Stream problems

The QA part was of medium difficulty for those who were good in Maths.Except for few questions in Series, most of it were answereable within a short time.

Safe number of attempts: 22+

Computer Knowledge: You had to attend 30 questions, each carrying 2 marks.

  • Computer organization
  • Basics Hardware
  • Languages
  • Abbreviations
  • Networks
  • Input/ Output
  • Internet Technologies

Since the computer section contains standard questions &  2 or 3 only requiring some time to think, it was easy for large number of people.

Safe number of attempts: 25+

General Knowledge: With 2 marks for every correct answer, there were 30 questions

  • Make in India
  • Important Dates
  • Books & Authors
  • South Asian Games
  • Capitals & Currencies
  • Latest Govt schemes
  • Awards

As we had mentioned earlier while publishing the 3 month current affairs PDF, there were a lot of questions about current affairs, especially from January & February 2016.

Some GK questions were very surprising looking at the intricate & minute details they asked. For example:

  • Playing it my way (Sachin tendular`s biography) – What is the approximate number of copies sold?
  • In how many balls did Pranaav Danawade scores 1009 runs?
  • Prime ministers of which countries attended Make in India Summit, held in Mumbai?
  • What is the Budget allocated to Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission?

While the 1st shift did not have any budget or railway budget related questions, candidates from next slot had few from these topics. Our budget 2016 PDF was released keeping in mind this situation.

So, the GK test was a dampner for many candidates as they did not expect such high level. Some were not even happy with their performance in this section.

Safe number of attempts: 14+

English Language Test: It is only of qualifying purpose & had around 40 questions.

  • Reading comprehension
  • Error spotting
  • Sentence completion
  • Cloze Test
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Parajumbles

If you have prepared the basics well, it wouldn’t be hard to clear in English section. The difficulty level was easy to moderate only.

Safe number of attempts: 18+

Do you know? Only 2100 candidates are to be shortlisted for LIC AAO Interviews
