It is said that atleast 15 lakh candidates could have registered for the LIC AAO 2016 recruitment, which is very much possible as many felt the LIC AAO salary & job profile to be better than bank jobs.
The LIC AAO recruitment exam was held in March 2016.Since it was an online test, releasing the results hasnt taken a longer time.

Shortlisted candidates would be receiving information on the interview dates, location & time slot through a separate email.

Some even show further proof for the huge response such as the application serial numbers touching the 15,xx,xxx mark during the last few days of registration.
This is a sign to show that lakhs of visitors were trying to access the website at the same time at the last minute also.
There is no official information to tell how many candidates applied for the LIC AAO 2016 exam.
But going by the experiences shared by applicants like seen above, we can believe that around 15 lakh candidates should have submitted their applications. (image only for illustration)
LIC had conducted the online written examinations on March 5, 6, 12 & 13th across India and there will be cutoffs on each section as well as on the total score.
So only those who secure these two cutoffs are to be shortlisted for AAO interviews.
The manner in which this selection is to be done was explained by LIC in its initial notification itself.See below for the exact words:
“The number of candidates to be called for Interview will be about 3 times the number of vacancies…”
As per the notice, the ratio of selection is 1:3 which means 3 candidates shall be considered for 1 post. |

A majority of participants who appeared for the test while talking about LIC AAO exam review, had termed it either easy or moderate only.

After hearing the performance feedback from candidates, here are the expected cutoffs(actual scores might differ slightly due to normalization)

The previous year cutoffs of LIC AAO also show that scores have been above 220 even when there were just 100 vacancies in 2015.
How many people could have appeared for the test?
There is always a considerable difference between the number of candidates who apply for the test & those who actually appear for it, in all competitive exams.
So if 15 lakh had registered, then approximately 10 lakh may have sat for the LIC AAO tests.
Whatever it may be, there will be only 2100 – 2500 candidates emerge successful in LIC AAO 2016 exams unless they decide to increase vacancies or modify the selection ratio.
We know it could be quite shocking for some, but that is the kind of competition seen nowadays for govt sector jobs.
