The primary job of a Direct Sales Executive (DSE) in LIC is mostly marketing. They would have to bring in new business, meet customers, provide policy related services to customers in allotted areas.It may also involve travelling & touring within those regions.

The position is contract based & selected candidates shall be engaged for 3 years.

The government owned insurance company has framed the following criteria for those applying to DSE jobs,
Based on the performance of executive, monthly remuneration would be fixed.
LIC will fill vacancies by selecting candidates through a written test & short listing from them for personal interviews.
While the date, venue, time etc for the objective type exam will be intimated later, it would comprise of the following sections – General knowledge, Test of reasoning, Sales Aptitude & Numerical ability.
Those who qualify in the written test shall be shortlisted for personal interviews which is the final stage of selection.
Applicants have to pay application fee of Rs.100 (except SC/ST) in cash at any LIC branch under account code 114034 & obtain a miscellaneous receipt containing payment details.This should be submitted at the time of test/ interview.
On successful fee payment, proceed to submit the online application form available at licindia.in. Do not forget to save the generated username/password & also print the submitted form for future reference.

Do not confuse with selection process. You just select on the basis of your performance. And by the way this is just a zone wise exam you hv to select zone and than select a city as you center. Okkk
So LIC has divided the recruitment into zones. Above that they are asking for the specific city when registering. My question is if you select a zone and then the city are you going to compete against the people who have selected that specific city as well. In that case isn't better to choose a city where less people will apply to negate certain competition. Also keeping in mind since its direct sale executive you will be required to speak the regional language (I am guessing this part). Anyone please tell how the recruitment will be done? Zone wise ? City Wise ? General Wise ? Any info will be helpful.....:)
