From this year onwards, a new selection process has been introduced for the recruitment of Assistant Manager (grade A) & Manager (grade B) in Nabard bank.
As per the modified selection procedure, candidates must go through three phases to get appointment.
Phase I (Prelims): The preliminary exam is a common online test for both Grade A & B posts, that is to be held on May 15th as per revised dates.
The prelims paper is further divided into two parts:
Part I consists of questions from the following sections:
Part II must also be answered in the same online test.It wont be held on a separate date.This part has two subjects:
The total marks allotted for Phase I is 200 marks & you are required to answer all questions within 2 hours (120 minutes).
Though NABARD has not given any information on negative marks we will know about it at the time of downloading exam call letter.
This preliminary exam is only for qualifying purpose.Your marks wont be taken for final selection.But only those who qualify in each section & rank sufficiently high will be called for Phase II (main examination). |
Phase II (Mains): The main examination will test your english skills & knowledge about agriculture & economy.Candidates have to attend all the below papers:
In Mains exam, there are 2 papers for Assistant Managers & 3 papers for Managers |
Paper I – Descriptive English: Essay, Précis writing, Comprehension, Report/ Paragraph & Letter writing.Answers for these questions are to be typed on the computer only.
Marks: 100 | Time limit is 1 hr 30 minutes.
Paper II – Economic & Social Issues and Agriculture & Rural Development
There will be multiple choice questions from Economical, Social issues, Agriculture and Rural development.
Nabard has already provided the detailed syllabus for these subjects in their notification (see below to get it via pdf)
Total: 100 marks | Time limit is 1 hr 30 minutes.
Paper III (only for Manager) Candidates who are applying for Manager (grade B) position only are required to attend this paper.There is no paper III for Assistant Managers.
The topics is Analytical Paper on Development Economics, Statistics, Finance and Management.It is an objective type paper with questions from the above mentioned topics.
Duration: 1 hr 30 minutes | Total: 100 marks

It may look that there are many papers to attend in this exam.But except for 3 papers in mains, all are the same.
Part I has Reasoning, Computers, General awareness, Quantitative aptitude & English language.

Economic and Social Issues: There will objective type questions related to economical & social issues that are prevalent in India.
Agriculture: NABARD is primarily an agriculture lending organization with core of its business in agri sector.Therefore an general overview of agriculture sector & rural development is required to answer objective questions in this paper.
Rural Development: Concept of Rural Area, Structure of the Indian Rural Economy, Importance and role of the rural sector in India.
Analytical Paper on Development Economics, Statistics, Finance & Management: This is yet another paper in NABARD main exams only for Manager (grade B).

Candidates who had registered for Assistant Manager (grade A) need not appear for paper III.
