NLC India Limited is a ‘Navratna’ public sector enterprise, producing an approximate 30 million tonne lignite from opencast mines at Neyveli in the state of Tamil. Founded in the year 1956, the NLC currently has around 12,000 employees on its rolls.

The total salary (CTC) will be approximately Rs.13.64 lakhs/ year. Selected candidates will be on training for a period of minimum one year, during which, the trainee will be paid basic Pay, dearness allowance and common allowance every month.

Age: The maximum age limit is GEN: 30 years; OBC: 33 yrs; SC:35 yrs and ST: 35 yrs, as on 01/03/2020
Education: The qualification differs for each discipline, as follows:
- Mechanical: Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical & Production Engineering with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Electrical (EEE): Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering /Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Power Engineering with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Electrical (ECE): Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Civil: Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering / Civil & Structural Engineering with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Control & Instrumentation: Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Computer: Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology (or) Full Time / Part Time PG Degree in Computer Applications with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)

- Geology: Full Time / Part Time M.Tech Geology (or) M.Sc Geology with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Finance: Pass in final examination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (CA) / Institute of Cost Accountants of India (CMA) OR MBA in Finance with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
- Human Resource: Post Graduate Degree in Social Work / Business Administration / Business Management or Post Graduate Degree / Diploma of minimum two years’ duration in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations / HRM / Labour Welfare / Labour Management / Labour Administration / Labour Studies with min 60% marks (50% for SC/ST)
Selection process: There will be an online examination totaling 120 questions, in two papers for duration of 2 hours.
- Part-I: 40 questions on Quantitative aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Data Interpretation and General English
- Part-II: 80 Questions on Professional Knowledge (Discipline related),
While each question will carry 1 mark, 0.25 negative mark would be deducted for every wrong answer.
Candidates will be shortlisted for personal interview in the order of merit based on the marks scored in the examination. The final selection shall depend on the aggregate marks in online exam and personal interview.
