The much expected SBI PO 2023 – 2024 recruitment notification has been released & is to take over India for the next few weeks. As the top public sector bank in India – State bank of India is to recruit for 2000 PO vacancies and this is the 1st big hiring by SBI for the year 2023.
State Bank of India is the largest bank in India with over 22000 branches across the nation with 2.4 lakh+ employees. SBI PO salary has always been the best compared to its peers. While the basic pay is Rs.41,960 in the scale of Rs.36,000 – 63840, employees are eligible for DA, HRA/ Lease rental, medical & many other benefits.
Therefore the take home salary of SBI PO will be approximately Rs.50,000 to 60,000 depending on the allowances & facilities availed by the candidate.
Applicants have a reason to feel happy here as State bank of India has not made any changes to its criteria & remains the same like previous years.
So the eligibility condition to apply for the SBI PO recruitment 2023 are,
Are you a loan defaulter? If you had taken any home loan, personal loan, educational loan & defaulted in repayment (not paying the monthly installments) – you are not eligible to apply for this PO recruitment in SBI (see why loan defaulters cannot apply)
Number of Chances: There is a limit on the number of times a person can appear for the SBI probationary officer recruitment examination. As per this rule:
It means, a general category candidates who had already appeared for 4 previous PO exams conducted by State bank of India are not eligible for this SBI PO recruitment 2023.While OBC candidates are given 7 chances, SC/ ST can apply for any number of times since they don’t have any limits.
The no. of attempts should be counted from the exam held on April 18, 2010.Appearing in preliminary examination will not be counted as a chance.

The marks obtained in preliminary test is only for qualifying purpose & will not be added to your final scores.
About Main Exam: It contains two major sections Objective test (200 marks) & Descriptive test (50 marks). As per it, all papers in main exam will have an individual time limit.
Based on the marks secured in phase II, candidates shall be called for GD & Interview. The final selection shall be announced considering your scores in these two phases.
Marking system: For every wrong answer in preliminary and main exam, 0.25 marks shall be deducted as negative marks. Also, there are no section-wise cutoffs in both examinations.
Candidates need to pay Rs.750 (Gen/ OBC) on or before September 27 through online mode only. There is no fee for SC/ST candidates. So make sure to submit your online application & transfer the payment through debit/credit card or Internet banking.
