The Indian banking sector is growing exponentially on a yearly basis with banks trying to bring more no. of customers into its fold.Due to this, bank jobs have become the most favored career option for graduates with massive turnouts for each banking exam.A latest news about an upcoming State Bank of India (SBI) recruitment is expected to kindle the interest for banking jobs further.
There are 19 public sector banking institution that recruit candidates through IBPS common bank exams for Officer & clerical positions.And its conducted once a year.
7000 Staff to be Recruited
State Bank of India being India`s largest govt owned bank conducts its own selection exam for vacancies in SBI & SBI associate banks.This is the reason why SBI recruitment notification is one of the most awaited event by bank job aspirants.
Rajnish Kumar, Managing Director of SBI while revealing the bank`s plans on expansion had an important news to share.
“We are going to add 700 more branches this financial year.We will hire about 7000 people (2000 probationary officers & 5000 clerks)”, he said.
There are 16,400 branches currently for SBI which they going looking to increase beyond 17,000 this FY itself.

Next is Clerk Recruitment?
According to State bank of India MD, of the total 700 new branches, 100 have already been setup & the remaining would be started in the next few months.
They have just completed the selection process for 2000 PO posts.So the bank could start this aforesaid clerk recruitment process anytime in the coming months.
SBI had not hired clerks exclusively during the past 2 years.See below for past data.

We don’t know when the official notification for clerical recruitment will be released.But SBI chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya had earlier said that the bank will hire every year.
So there is a very high possibility for a clerical exam to be announced in 2016.
SBI Clerk Eligibility Conditions
